Pitching

Training Recommendations

Hip/Shoulder Separation:

Is the difference between the angle created by your hips and your shoulders as you throw. Flexibility is key to being able to maximize this value, but increased velocity comes from leveraging this flexibility along with proper timing.

Hip Rotation:

It is essential to creating a smooth deceleration path. It is also the basis for pitching power.

Tilt:

Excessive trunk tilt may be, at rare times, associated with higher effective velocity. However, it is certainly associated with increased risk of injury. Work on trunk stabilization to reduce injury risk.
