Rice Lake's Scott Lindow named Assistant Coach of the Year

The Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association is pleased to announce that Rice Lake’s Scott Lindow was named the State Assistant Coach of the Year after being named the Northwest District Assistant Coach of the Year.

Rice Lake head baseball coach Steve Fisher said, "Scott has been invaluable to our program, especially in the development of our players' mental approach to the game."

Lindow has also worked with other programs with his mental training program with other area programs in Cumberland, Saint Croix Falls, Barron and others to name a few.

Cumberland head baseball coach Joe Waite also noted the positive impact Lindow has had on his players. "Scott volunteered to come over and work with mental toughness with our players and immediately got our kids to buy into it. He has a great rapport with student athletes and was a welcomed addition to our team."

Lindow models his mental approach to the game after Brian Cain whom he communicates with on a regular basis. Cain is one of the nation’s top sports psychologists.

Lindow is a 1994 graduate of Birchwood High School. He has coached many different levels and is currently Rice Lake’s assistant baseball coach in addition to being Rice Lake’s head girls golf coach.

He founded the Mind Gym Academy in Rice Lake in 2019, which offers mental performance coaching not only to athletes, but to coaches and parents as well. His program has positively influenced many young athletes in the sporting community not only in Rice Lake, but in Barron County, by helping athletes develop mental fortitude.

Lindow will receive his award at the 39th Annual WBCA State Convention on

Saturday, February 10th.
